Rejection is probably one of the most painful feelings you could ever feel. I am sure we can all agree that it feels like a punch in the gut, but you can learn to deal with rejection and bounce back. Rebounding after facing rejection is a skill worth mastering. When facing rejection, one should focus on the lessons learned and keep moving forward. Don’t get discouraged.
Regardless of one's stature, we have all experienced rejection at some point or another and sometimes we don’t even know why. Whether it is in our place of work or in our personal lives, rejection is something we never want to experience and can be hard for us to process. In this episode, you'll find out why it's important to bounce back and how you can turn rejection into redirection.
As humans, complaining is a way for us to release tension and bond with others. It can also be a form of venting frustration or connecting with others who share in your feelings. But does complaining make you feel better? It's a way to let off steam, and that's fine, but does it help you feel better in the long run? In today’s episode, we will discuss a new way to connect with ours.
Last week I released a podcast called Happiness In The Midst Of Adversity. We got a lot of very positive feedback from it. However, there were some more clarifying questions that I answered in today’s Part 2. In order to achieve happiness, you must first accept the world as it is. This can be difficult to do because we are all conditioned to think that the world should be a certain way. We want things to go our way and when they don't, we become unhappy. The world is never going to be the way you want it to be. The world is always changing, and so are you. You can't control everything, but you can control your response to it. You may feel like you can't just accept the world as it is and achieve happiness at the same time. When there is so much adversity in the world, how can we be happy? In today’s podcast, I answer an important question about this from one of my students.
You may feel like you can't just accept the world as it is and achieve happiness at the same time. You have to change it, make a difference and stand up against things that don’t align with your values. The world as it is isn't the way we want it to be. The good news is that we don't need to change the world to be happy, just ourselves. When we accept that there are things beyond our control--and accept them with grace--our lives become easier and more peaceful. In the end, it's important to remember that life is a journey. You can't control everything that happens and you shouldn't try. But at the same time, there are things in this world that are worth fighting for--and it’s okay to stand up for things that do not align with your values when those things occur in front of you. In today's episode, we will discuss an important question about how we can be happy even with so much adversity in the world.
